The monitor device shall have a durable label on or in close proximity to it that describes how to interpret the monitor and what to do if the monitor indicates that system performance has changed. 1001.3 System labels required. Systemdescription labels made of durable material shall be placed on or within 12 inches [30 cm] of the electric service panel and also on the ASD system or other prominent location. The lettering on the label shall be not less than 1/4 inch [6.35 mm] in height and shall be of a color in contrast to the color of the background on which the lettering is applied. The occupants of the dwelling shall be provided with a documentation package affixed to the ASD system pipe or other prominent location that includes the following: 1) A description of system operation. Note— Exhibit 2 , “Understanding an Active Radon Reduction System.” provides an example operational description that meets this requirement; 2) Radon test data from before activation of the dwellings mitigation system, where available; 3) Radon test data after activation of the dwellings mitigation system; 4) The annual energy consumption of the installed ASD fan(s), whether estimated or actual, and the projected monetary cost of such energy; and 5) An advisory stating that the building should be tested for radon at least every 2 years or as required or recommended by state or federal agencies. SECTION 1101 POST ACTIVATION EVALUATIONS 1101.1 Radon testing. A radon test shall be performed after activation of rough-in systems with an ASD fan by a certified radon measurement professional. Testing shall be performed in accordance with AARST/ ANSI MAH “Protocol for Conducting Measurements of Radon and Radon Decay Products in Homes” or applicable state protocols or requirements. 1101.2 Functional evaluation. In conjunction with activating an active soil depressurization ( ASD ) system, the negative pressure in the system's main riser piping shall be measured and recorded.
